Project Description:
Construction of a purpose built 160 Bus Depot facility on a contaminated brown field site within the Blantyre area.
Works Included:
- Bio-remediation of approx 11500m³ of hydrocarbon contaminated materials
- Sub-structure required a combination of vibro-compaction and mass concrete upfill to building area due to the nature of the existing ground levels
- External reinforced concrete hardstanding (Approx16, 500m2 ) with associated hardcore upfill consolidated in layers and drainage, including petrol interceptors and attenuation tanks.
- External 3.5m high timber acoustic security fencing
- Internal reinforced concrete floors with inspection pits within main garage, and laid to high tolerances at the MOT inspection and Bus wash Areas
- Construction of internal two-storey office block with welfare facilities, industrial canteen, reception area, locker rooms and mechanics changing areas
- Micro-rib cladding to external façade over various heights
- Supply installation and co-ordination of M&E and specialist kit within depot
- Highway works to comply with Roads Department requirements
