Project Description:
Re-development of Greenock Bus Station to provide a new eight bus stance layout and new purpose built shelters.
Works Included:
- Breaking out and removal of existing kerbs and concrete block paving
- Removal of existing bus shelters
- Consolidation of sub base
- Installation of new kerbs (HB2 and Kassel)
- Formation of new asphalt footways
- Construction of reinforced concrete carriageway slab
- Laying of new tactile paving
- Installation of new purpose built passenger shelters
- Installation of new surface water drainage incl. Manholes and trapped gullies
- Street lighting improvements and CCTV monitoring system
- Installation of Electronic Bus Speed Monitoring devices
- New road markings
On a project such as this within a “live environment” close liaison with the client, local authorities and the Police was essential to co- ordinate the road closures and diversions with the least impact on the operation of the bus services as possible
