Project Description:
Construction of 1.4 km road to adoptble standards with associated contiguous filter drainage.
This challenging project required the construction of a new access road through a countryside environment whilst overcoming the combined challenges of rock, peat, heavily wooded areas, farm land and water courses. Great care had to be taken to minimise the environmental impact of our operations during the construction period.
The road was constructed on the narrowest possible footprint, and filters were installed in watercourses, even the engine oils for our plant and machinery were bio-degradable in case of unforseen spillages.
Works Included:
- The works consisted of the construction of a 1.4km road to adoptable standards with associated contiguous filter drainage
- This was a challenging project other to the peat sub-strata and the requirement to minimise excavation and hardcore upfill
