For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow!

15 February 2016

Congratulations to Charlie Frize, who was recently awarded Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) at a ceremony in London.

“Fellowship” is the highest level of membership of the Institution and recognises senior civil engineers who have made a significant contribution to the civil engineering profession.

The selection panel recognised Charlie’s leadership abilities within the ongoing growth of Luddon Construction, his drive and commitment delivering the successful Craighall Business Park and continued involvement with the wider masterplan for Port Dundas, a key regeneration area in North Glasgow, as well as his contribution within the renewable energy sector.

During 36 years with Luddon, Charlie has held the positions of Civil Engineer/Site Agent, Contracts Manager, Contracts Director, Joint Managing Director and subsequently his current role of Managing Director. He has also served as a director of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Scotland) for 7 years including over two years as Chairman.

Mr Frize said: “I started training to become a Civil Engineer in 1972 and have enjoyed a long and rewarding career spanning over 40 years. Throughout that time I have always strived to achieve the highest professional standards and continue to promote this ethos within our company.

To now be awarded the status of “Fellow” is a great honour which recognises this commitment and whilst this is a personal award, I also hope that it highlights the fantastic career opportunities within the Civil Engineering profession and encourages others to follow in my footsteps”
