Luddon Engineer wins CECA Award!

Luddon Construction attended the annual CECA Awards Dinner last night and we are delighted to announce that our Civils Site Engineer, Declan Laing, was presented with the ‘Most Promising New Entrant Civil Engineer’ award.

Declan received this award due to him excelling in the following categories; educational achievement and progression, work experience and responsibility, demonstration of excellence, commitment to his employer and role and ‘going the extra mile’.

He joined Luddon Construction in 2017 and during this time has brought an unrivalled commitment to continue his progression within our organisation. Declan has recently agreed a move to our East of Scotland Division to allow him to further develop his understanding of Civil Engineering contracting within differing project environments. He enthusiastically engages with everyone and is keen to share his opinion and learnings to develop solutions and individuals alike.

Declan said: “I am very thankful to receive this special award which means a lot to me. I would just like to say thanks to everyone at Luddon who has given me the help, support and knowledge to get me to this point in my career.”

Grahame Barn, Chief Executive of CECA Scotland, said: "Declan is a very impressive young man and exemplifies the kind of talent that our industry must nurture if we are to deliver the infrastructure revolution that Scotland so badly needs. Declan's own journey is proof of the many different paths that can lead into rewarding careers in civil engineering and I hope that many more young people will follow in his footsteps by exploring the options available to them in the sector.

"The CECA Scotland Most Promising awards are going from strength to strength, reflecting the huge amount of talent in our industry, and we are delighted that contractors like Luddon have embraced this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the successes of the brightest and best young people within Scotland's civil engineering contractors."

Congratulations to Declan and all other winners from the night!
