Project Description:

The construction of a new Anaerobic Digestion Plant on a greenfield site

Works Included:

  • Bulk earth works including site clearance, rock cut, excavation, formation of swales and attenuation pond with hydrobrake to existing watercourse 
  • Installation of petrol separator and septic tank
  • Construction of bio filter area
  • Formation of various reinforced concrete platforms for process equipment, weighbridge, wheelwash and flare
  • Construction of concrete roads and hardstanding areas (400m³ polypropylene fibre reinforced concrete) including all drainage and service ducting (concrete channels and lids)
  • Formation of bunded storage tank area, consisting of approximately 366m of 2.5m high in situ reinforced concrete walls
  • 7no. reinforced concrete tank bases 17m and 25m dia. (approximately 3000m³ concrete)
  • Construction of 18m high steel framed process building and laboratory /office facility 1800m² (designed and built to withstand blast loadings from adjacent MOD armaments depot)
  • Construction of 3m high reinforced concrete insitu retaining wall within the process area, as well as a number of epoxy lined reinforced concrete tip tanks (4m deep)
  • Facility was designed to include a rainwater harvesting system
  • Full mechanical and electrical package
  • Office and laboratory fit out
