Project Description:

Upgrading of the existing Bund A at Valero Manchester Fuels Terminal to meet current environmental standards. The construction works involve mutli-disciplined activities such as civil, mechanical and electrical

Works Included:

  • Removal of step-overs no longer required
  • Temporary removal, modification and re-installation of step-overs to be reused
  • Demolition and removal of concrete footpaths and various bases
  • Excavation of the existing bund floor by hand and machine – 4000m³
  • Excavation of existing buried cables by hand - 535m³
  • Construction of new concrete bund wall and toe structures - 732m³ concrete; 75t reinforcing; 1300m² formwork, 760m rear-guard water-stop and 160m of stainless steel water-stop
  • Replacement of concrete tank revetments - 400m³ concrete; 400m² formwork; 10t reinforcing; 520m synkoflex water-stop
  • Construction of new drainage ways
  • Construction of new concrete drainage sump
  • Replacement of concrete bases
  • Installation of new bund floor using Pre-Hydrated High Density Bentonite membrane (RAWMAT) - 6285m²
  • Installation of membrane overburden using new and excavated materials - 1900m³
  • Fabrication and installation of new pipe supports
