Project Description:

Construction of new spine roads, roundabouts, footpaths and cycle lanes to facilitate a new housing development off Eaglesham Road, Jackton.

Works Included:

Phase 1:

  • Contractor D&B element for soil remediation due to poor ground conditions at the area of the first roundabout at Eaglesham Road. There were poor soils at depths up to 13m deep. This design required approval from the local authority as they were required to adopt the road to be constructed above. Our designed solution involved deep soil mixed columns installed down to suitable bearing soils with a reinforced concrete slab above to transfer the load
  • Bulk earthworks
  • New drainage installation with diameters up to 900mm and new foul water pumping station
  • Construction of 2nr new SUDS ponds and associated headwalls, swales and outfalls
  • Installation of new utilities including diversions and new connections
  • New street lighting installation
  • Construction of new precast concrete box culvert below new spine road
  • Construction of new spine roads including two new roundabouts and associated footpath and cycle lanes

Phase 2:

  • Bulk earthworks for new spine roads and housing platforms, including lime stabilisation methods in order to utilise poor soils to meet the earthworks specification
  • Contractor D&B element for new gabion retaining walls
  • New drainage installation with diameters up to 900mm
  • Construction of 1nr new SUDS pond and associated headwalls, swales and outfalls
  • Installation of new utilities including diversions and new connections
  • New street lighting installation
  • Construction of new spine roads and associated footpath and cycle lanes
