Project Description:

Construction of a single storey car park above the existing surface car park to create 108 additional spaces, including vehicle on and off ramps and pedestrian access stairs

Works Included:

  • Ground vibro replacement to a portion of the site with new reinforced concrete bases
  • Structural steel columns and framing
  • Secondary steel work to parapet details
  • Structural steel and reinforced concrete to form ramps
  • Precast hollowcore decking slabs with a concrete topping and proprietary waterproof finish
  • Access stairs are structural steel framed with steel stringers, treads and risers and industrial style balustrade
  • The stair enclosing walls are metal wall panels with similar on the roof all supported on cold rolled steel rails and purlins
  • Services are restricted to rainwater disposal, electrical lighting and CCTV and associated drainage alterations
  • External works comprise removal of island raised footways to suit new layouts and re-configuration as required for kerbs and footways finished with macadam surfacing
