Project Description:

Construction of 3 new shell retail units (Greggs, KFC Drive Thru and Starbucks Drive Thru) and associated external works

Works Included:

  • Cut and Fill – 3500m³ of cut and 2700m³ of fill with the remaining material removed to our internal recycling centre to be processed for future use
  • Retention – we were required to use two retention systems 1. PHI Group “Cribwall” system 40m long retaining soil 4.5mtrs high. 2. Precast concrete “L shaped” wall sections 30m long retaining soil 4.5m high
  • Foundations – concrete strip foundations cast insitu
  • New service connections – installation of new water, gas and electric services including a new substation. Works involved road opening permits and traffic management systems
  • Steel frame – 3 open portal steel frames complete with elevated plant rooms with access ladders and floor grills
  • Timber flat roof – 12m span open rafter flat roof construction to Starbucks
  • Fire Proof Paint – fire protection to steel and timber structural elements
  • Internal wall linings – various internal walls sheeted full height with bulkhead formed at drive thru windows
  • Hard landscaping – mixture of porous paving, monoblock and concrete paviours
  • Surfacing – in-house surfacing division carried out all drive thru lanes, access road and car park works. Various other road crossing points and service yard works carried out through the rest of the yard
  • Fencing – various types of fencing including Armco barrier, anti climb security fencing and post and rail landscape fencing
