Project Description:

Full construction of the slip road, main spine roads and footpaths including multi-utility service infrastructure to facilitate a new development of 834 residential properties

Works Included:

  • Bulk earthworks package
  • 120,000m3 topsoil excavated
  • 215,000m3 subsoil excavated and filled
  • 185,000m3 rock excavated, processed to 6N and re-used on site
  • Rock was excavated by a combination of ripping, mechanically breaking and blasting techniques
  • 40,000m3 peat excavated
  • 78,000m3 subsoil excavated, lime stabilised, and utilised to form a structural acoustic bund to the perimeter of the site
  • Installation of over 1,400lin.m of 2m and 3m high acoustic barriers
  • Over 6km of drainage pipes installed, up to 900mm diameter and at depths of up to 7m deep, with much of it in rock
  • Utilised precast manhole bases (Easi-base) for quicker and safer manhole installation
  • 3 SUDS ponds to adoptable Scottish Water specification
  • 40m long arch culvert
  • Installation of multi-utility trenches
  • Installation of full street lighting network
  • Full spine road and footpath construction including surfacing
  • New toucan and zebra crossings
  • Forming parking areas
  • Plot works for 38 unit affordable housing development including foundations, sub structures, plot drainage, plot services, floor slab construction and all hard / soft landscaping
