First Aid at Work

Course Duration
3 Days (Day Release)

The Aim of the Course is to
Train selected candidates to the required standard as directed by the Health & Safety Executive in the duties of a first aider.

Course Objectives
As an employer, you must provide adequate and appropriate first aid equipment, facilities and personnel to your workplace. The first-aid at work course enables nominated first-aiders to provide the initial help necessary to give a casualties treatment for sudden injury or illness, until more professional help arrives.

Course Summary
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations, exercises and examinations, all of which are underpinned by the use of presentation and videos covering:

  • Principles of First Aid
  • Resuscitation
  • Bandaging
  • Asphyxia
  • CPR
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Circulatory failure
  • Fractures
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Dealing with the Unconscious Casualty
  • Epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • Hysteria
  • Eye Irrigation
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisons


Who Should Attend The Course?
Personnel selected to be fully qualified first aiders.
