"Struck by moving vehicle" Is biggest cause of fatal injuries to UK workers

Recently published HSE fatal injury statistics for 2016/17 shows that "Struck by moving vehicles" was the most common cause of fatal injuries to workers in the UK, followed by "work at height".

The provisional figures show that 31 fatalities from a total of 137 were caused by workers being struck by moving vehicles, overtaking falls from height which remains the most common cause over the past 5 years.

Health and safety guidance relating to workplace transport focusses on the three main areas of safe site, safe vehicle and safe driver with particular emphasis on training of drivers and banksmen.
