The successful candidate will be required to:

• Travel between sites within the local area - current driving license required. An HGV license would be preferred but not essential.
• Experience of working on a variety of construction mobile plant equipment and also tippers, car, van etc.
• Servicing, maintenance and repair of all vehicles, plant and specialist equipment within the depot or on site. Inspections and MOT preparations and the collection of spare parts from distributors when required.

The Clerk will be the connecting person that links the accounts to the procurement and construction departments and will play an essential role in the correct allocation of resources to ensure efficient accounts payable procedures.

Key responsibilities:

• Receive Goods Received Notes from site and enter against appropriate order in system
• Manage and control ticket receipts ensuring that sites send tickets in on time
• Liaise with Purchase Ledger department to match invoices with Goods Received Notes
• Ensure site allocation sheets are maintained on projects and the information is up-to-date on allocation of plant, labour and materials
• Provide information on contract costings as requested
• File cost information and tickets etc. as required
• Deal with general cost administration queries

• Administer the contract to accommodate external statutory bodies e.g. SEPA, HSE, Local Authorities and statutory service providers.
• To liaise with the Training Centre staff on a regular basis to ensure status of workforce competencies are up to date and plan any training/assessment requirement to achieve maximum utilisation of personnel.
• Ensure projects are managed proactively and efficiently.
• Interrogate designs for buildability.
• Ensure that contractor design portions are produced and signed off prior to construction (with assistance from Contract Manager/Design Manager where required).
• Ensure quality inspections are carried out to demonstrate compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Produce and maintain project programmes.
• Produce progress reports and chair progress and technical meetings.
• Scoping and procurement of work packages along with project QS.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

• HNC/D Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related construction qualification.
