Invest in Renfrewshire visit Inchinnan Cycleway Project

Last week, Luddon Construction invited candidates from Invest in Renfrewshire who are interested in undertaking work in the construction industry to visit the Inchinnan Cycleway project.

This £1m project, for Renfrewshire Council, is to improve existing Non-Motorised User travel provision and provide new footways/ cycleways located along Greenock Road. The scheme length is 1.8km, commencing at Inchinnan Drive Roundabout, heading east, where it ties in with the Black Cart Cycle Bridge.

All candidates that attended are currently working towards their CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). Invest in Renfrewshire supports their candidates to achieve this industry related certification, which is required by all who work in the construction industry.

Luddon Construction Divisional Manager, Tony Traynor, guided the group around the site where they learned more about the project.  The candidates also gained an insight from some of our operatives who work daily with the large plant machinery on site.

One of the candidates from Invest in Renfrewshire said: “This was an excellent site visit. I found the visit really informative and made me aware of what and how much work and effort is put in to a job in Construction.”
