Luddon Construction delivering Scotland’s first Topgolf Facility

Luddon Construction are thrilled to be back on-site delivering the £18.5m contract for Ashfield Land to create the new Topgolf facility off Cambuslang Road adjacent to Junction 2 of the M74.

Construction works commenced early last year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic work was put on hold. Works recommenced in August this year and to date we have carried out the excavation and formation of ground level, piling, excavation of foundations and excavation and installation of drainage.

The project consists of a steel framed building with concrete floors surrounded by various types of insulated and decorative cladding to create a state-of-the-art golf driving range with targets to aim for that are electronically linked to the podium near the golfer to show their score. The site will also include bars, restaurants and a large car park.

The driving range will be surrounded by an up to 52-metre-high net to prevent golf balls from leaving the range.

The design team appointed to this project includes Currie & Brown as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, Cooper Cromar as Architect, Will Rudd Davidson as Structural and Civil Engineers, DSSR and Arthur McKay as Mechanical and Electrical.

This will be Scotland’s first three-storey driving range and ‘golf entertainment centre’.
