Luddon Small Works Division Team receive February Safety Award

Luddon Construction recognise that Health, Safety and Wellbeing is a core and integral part of the company and the overall goal of all our projects is to complete the works with zero lost time or reportable injuries. We understand that positive Health and Safety performance and management is never a ‘bolt-on’ and is always viewed as simply the way we operate.

With this in mind we would like to congratulate our Small Works Division team working at BAE Systems in Govan who have won our February Safety Award!

These works involve crane rail strengthening consisting of installing PFC, struts and new columns to strengthen the existing crane rail to allow for the installation of two new Gantry Cranes. There is also fabrication shed concrete repairs involving the breaking out of areas of defective concrete, installing new earthing bars and pouring new concrete patches. Our Luddon team are also working very closely with BAE Systems on the installation of new secure door entry systems and the installation of new structural steelwork with a pedestrian access door.

All work is progressing very well and our team have continually cooperated and effectively communicated with both internal and externals stakeholders to successfully eliminate the risk of injury or incident. We always look to ensure best practice is maintained at all times and all of our work is undertaken safely. This has been clearly identified through ongoing participation in Safety Observation Conversations and Safety Observations Reports, excellent performance on our inspection reports, continued participation in all of our Tool Box Talks and zero reported injuries or incidents.

Well done to all the team involved!
