Neilston Substation wins monthly HSE Award!

Congratulations to our team working at the SPEN Neilston Substation in Paisley who have picked up our HSE Award for the month of August.

The project comprises the refurbishment of 10km of currently de-energised overhead lines, the disconnection of approximately 3km of the 400kV double circuit route, the installation of a new single circuit terminal tower and the Neilston 400kV substation layout being reconfigured to a single switch arrangement.

The civil and structural works include new foundations, bunds, plinths, support structures, replacing damaged trench covers and the reinstatement of the ground. Further scope includes the demolition and removal of concrete gantries including its foundations.

The team have continually performed to a very high standard in terms of HSE performance and overall project delivery. The scope of works not only presents a continual challenge but when coupled with the safety critical requirements and the nature of this working environment, this performance is even more impressive.

Our teams have not only carried out works safely but they have continually been proactive in their excellent attitude towards site safety inspections, raising the necessary Safety Observation Reports and carrying out Safety Observation Conversations.

Well done to the team!
