TJ Morris Ltd has appointed Luddon Construction to deliver the new 20,000 sq ft Home Bargains unit and associated external works to create 120 parking spaces in Rutherglen.

The new store will be built on vacant land, off Dalmarnock Road at the northern edge of Rutherglen, beside a new Starbucks drive-thru. Construction work began in December this year with the works due for completion in Summer 2021.

The design team appointed to this project consists of Smith Design Associates as Architects, Ramage Young as Structural and Civil Engineers and Faithful+Gould as Quantity Surveyors.

The new build comprises a steel superstructure with insulated roof and wall panels and external finishes such as curtain walling. The external civils works involve drainage systems, new roads and car park, street furniture and landscaping.

This store in Rutherglen will be the fourth Home Bargains delivered by Luddon Construction, with the other new builds completed in Stirling, Craigmiller and St Rollox.
