Luddon Construction are currently working in Dundee at The Stack Retail Park where we are constructing a 35,000ft² Home Bargains with a Garden Centre, alongside a new Greggs Drive Thru unit.

This project has brought some challenges to our site and support teams due to the fact we are carrying out complex construction work in two separate locations and within a fully operational, busy retail park.

In terms of risk mitigation, interface with the public is top of the agenda and to ensure that all work is carried out safely we have minimised any interaction with the public and developed a detailed traffic management plan to ensure continued safe operation. 

An example of some controls implemented on the project has been the use of a trained and competent banksman assigned to any transportation movements in the busy car park, with our site team also keeping regular contact with the local tenants and advising them of any planned large-scale deliveries.

Currently we are well underway on this project, with performance being reflective of our overall safety culture! This Health and Safety award is testament to our ongoing safe operations, the effort being made on a challenging project and the continued work being done with local businesses and the public.

It is clear to see that our site team and all subcontractors on this project are putting Health and Safety performance first!
