Project Description:

The areas around Stirling Station were redeveloped and improvements to the station forecourt area converted this from a vehicle dominated space to pedestrian only use, changing the paving, improving wayfinding and providing additional cycle parking.

Works Included:

  • Pedestrianisation of the station forecourt area including more cycle storage and landscaping
  • Existing access to the South car park from Goosecroft Road was removed and replaced with a new southern access / egress from Burghmuir Road.
  • A new improved facility for taxis was included within the south car park and a new turning circle created close to the station building
  • Replacing Goosecroft roundabout with new T-junction
  • Vehicle incursion between south car park bays and railway boundary
  • Service diversions
  • Refurbishment of platform 2 and 3 waiting rooms and driver’s bothy
  • Car park upgrading and surfacing
