Contract: SBCC Design and Build with amendments

Project Description:

Construction of Scotland's first three-storey driving range and golf entertainment centre.

Works Included:

The project consisted of a 45,000ft² steel framed building with concrete floors surrounded by various types of insulated and decorative cladding to create a state-of-the-art golf driving range with targets to aim for that are electronically linked to the podium near the golfer to show their score.

The driving range has 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays, surrounded by a 52-metre-high net. The site also includes a bar and restaurant and a large car park. The works also consisted of mains electricity and drain diversions.

Prior to construction commencing the invasive species on the site such as Hogweed, Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam needed remediated, and other materials such as asbestos. A full asbestos renovation and demolition survey was carried out prior to works commencing and appropriate remedial action was taken.

The project was constructed in three phases:

Phase 1 - Site preparation including the removal of invasive species, asbestos removal and demolition of existing buildings and diversion works to the sludge sewage works.

Phase 2 - Construction of the facility and outfield works including the car parks and fencing.

Phase 3 - Tenant fit-out.
